When John F Kennedy’s name is mentioned, two things are mentioned. His many affairs, or his assassination.
While I wasn’t born when John Kennedy was around, I grew up knowing about him, and as part of the Girls Brigade Queens Award, I wrote an essay on John Kennedy. I discovered a lot of interesting things about the man. He was very intelligent. A deep thinker. Slow to talk, he liked to think things through before opening his mouth.
He loved his family, he just couldn’t seem to resist a pretty face. But above all, he was president of the United States of America for two years before being assassinated. There are theories and conspiracy theories regarding his death, but it all boils down to the fact that John Kennedy was a man ahead of his time. The US, let alone the world, weren’t ready for his ideas and concepts.
John Kennedy is accredited with many thought provoking and inspiring quotes. I like this one. It reminds us that gratitude is an attitude.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
