This week we focus on my emotional wellbeing.
My Emotional goals are:
recognising and dealing with my emotions as they arise (this is a big thing for me),
spend time meditating or doing yoga each week,
being aware of my surroundings and my reactions to them.
The last couple of months – actually the last four months, have been an opportunity for me to really tune in to my emotions, but the last month in particular has been very trying. There is a lot of turmoil going on in our family at the moment, we have a family member who is ill, and there are moments of happiness, sadness, frustration, anger – lots of different emotions coming to the fore. Fortunately I am recognising them and acknowledging them. I let the sadness out by crying it out, like the psychologist told me to. I’m trying to encourage others to do it as well, but they’re scared that once they start they won’t stop. That isn’t what happens, but it is scary to try it the first time.
I haven’t spent a lot of time doing yoga or meditation, but I have been doing breathing exercises – mindfulness ones, where you close your eyes, and take deep breathes. It helps you to be aware of the moment you are in, and helps to calm you down.
My surroundings have been changing a lot lately, and my emotions with them. But it is all good. I’m growing and learning through every experience.
I’m pleased to announce that I am creating a Wellbeing toolbox which will be a free download for anyone who subscribes to my newsletter. There are some other changes and offers coming, and I’ll let you know as they start to come together.
Thank you for bearing with me, and next week, I’ll focus on my Mental Update 🙂
