I posted here on the 4th January about my goals for 2016 in Wellbeing.
This week, I will update you on the physical aspect of wellbeing, as it applies to me.
To recap – these are my physical goals:
losing 5 kilograms initially,
continue on with my walking
get out tramping twice this year.
continue on with my gardening.
Yes, I have added another on there, because I like gardening, and its surprising just how much physical activity while pulling weeds or planting.
I have been out walking alternate days. I haven’t recorded how far it is, but it takes me about 30 – 40 minutes depending on the mood I’m in once I come down off the hill. It really gives me a positivity boost first thing in the morning and makes me better able to cope with things. I don’t puff as hard now as I used too when I climbed up the hill. My heart rate isn’t quite so fast, but its still a good cardio workout.
I’ve been discussing tramping plans with one of my girlfriends and we hope to do an overnighter one weekend soon. We’ve both been working weekends, so it hasn’t been possible, but once school goes back we will look at it then.
My garden is finally coming together, and I enjoy getting out in the early morning or late evening when it is cool enough to actually do something. I’m keeping the weeds at bay at the moment, and my petunias have really taken off, but they cope well with low watering situations. My thighs are normally killing me after I’ve done some gardening, because I’m up and down all the time, moving around.
So that’s my physical update. Next week, I’ll update you on my spiritual wellbeing.
