Shards of Ice is a Science Fiction piece about the head of the King’s Bodyguards and a Vigilante, and how they both have secrets that they can’t share.
Madam Jamar is someone who has a lot of information, but she is nervous. Why? Basically it is in her nature. While she is an old woman, and doesn’t appear to be more than a gossip, because of the nature of the news she carries, she gets nervous and if she takes fright, she will up and run off, without indulging any information.
Madam Jamar is a native of Eldora, her parents and her parents, parents emigrated from one of the dark planets, and to start with they lived in the underground cities, as they were unable to sustain long periods of daylight.
Madam Jamar was an only child, and learned the trade of her parents, of sewing and mending. She could fix clothing in a flash, and her skills were well known, making her a valuable asset. She worked with the royal family, but turned down the offer to work for them, perfering instead the company of other travelers. Instead, when she was old enough, Jamar traveled around with the Marching Markets, visiting all areas of the planet, and all manner of cities.
When Ch’Ar invaded the planet, her freedom to travel became a great way for the various networks to get information to and from each other. The information she garnered was valuable, and the more the D’Authian Guards depended on her, the more nervous she became. Vyvica was the only person she would pass information onto in the end, because she didn’t know who she could trust.
