Its Queens Birthday weekend here in good ole NZ, which means that some people have Monday off.  Not that many celebrate her birthday – its just another reason for a long weekend.

Been a busy week – art wise.  Went into town on Thursday for an art trip – visited three galleries and found out what the NCEA top art Folios look like.  The artwork was amazing, but it wasn’t really what I was expecting.  Says a lot about expectations doesn’t it.

Writing – well I have been.  I have rewritten a scene in Shards of Ice, and waiting on my editor to return it to me.  I’ve also written some more on Curse of the Taniwha, which was a big goal – but then I didn’t get my writing goal finished – which was to finish off Running Away and Curse of the Taniwha by 31 May.  I really need to be a bit stricter on myself to get it done, because I have a whole schedule for getting both of these books out by the end of the year.  And I need to be more disciplined.

I have finished the Shards of Ice edits, and will get that through to my lovely proofreaders once I get that final chapter back.  Hopefully there isn’t anything too major – I haven’t actually had a read through myself yet.  Will do that at the same time as the proofreaders.

I have finally contracted a cold, so feeling rather miserable with myself.  Hopefully that will mean that I can do some writing this week… but we’ll have to wait and see.

It’s also my wedding anniversary today – 13 years with my Immortal Beloved.  It’s been rough, and really only the last 6 months where we have finally communicated on a basic level – because communication doesn’t have to be hard.  Just talk – say something, apologise – laugh together.  When we reach our 50th anniversary, hopefully we will know the secret to our success  🙂

What big plans have you got for the week.

Have a great week 🙂

A Right Royal Anniversary
