Another week. Wow, is it me? Or is time really slipping by?  Mondays are fast becoming a blur and before I know it, it’s Wednesday and the end of the week is fast approaching!  Man, Christmas will be here in no time!

My baby boy turned 12 last week.  He’s not a baby anymore.  Hard to believe that the 50cm long human is now almost as tall as me (I’m 174cm).  He’s an amazing kid and I am so lucky to be his Mum.  We’ve had some lovely mother – son bonding this week and weekend.

So Art has been good.  I’ve been working on finishing my folio board, which is due in in 4 weeks, and I still keep coming up with new ideas.  The teacher keeps telling me that I have plenty already for the board, but why stop there?  I have started embossing now – which is indenting patterns on wet paper.  I tried some last week, hopefully it came out.  It would add a whole new dimension of my board, and show off not only lino prints, but embossing and monoprints as well.

Writing – yeah well, didn’t happen.  Not that I didn’t want it to.  I am at a point where I guess I need to just take a break and come back to it when I am ready.  I don’t want to push it and muck it up.  While I am aware that it is one of my red flags for depression, this is different.  This is because of my grieving process.  My other red flags aren’t waving, so I’m feeling happy with that.

Talking about happy – it took 8 days on antibiotics, but finally managed to kick that nasal infection!  About bloody time too!  I hate being sick, and its even worse when its head based.  Felt like a vacuum cleaner was stuck on inside my head!  I have since finished the antibiotics, now I am focused on antihistamines to keep allergies at bay while my poor sinuses recover.

We have lovely weather over the weekend, so lovely I managed to create a rather large To Do List and cross some things off!  And the weather was no nice, I actually cracked out the jandals and rolled my trousers up.  It was a rude awakening to have to get up early and suffer the frosts this morning.  I even got some seeds planted up, so hopefully I can start getting my garden up and running (part of the To Do List!)

A6 notebookSo anyway, the title of this piece.  I’ve been watching some a5 notebookvideos on book binding, and I have been inspired.  I’ve
always enjoyed making books, notebooks etc, but I couldn’t find anything that looked good.  Well, good enough to sell, and now I have, and I have to say I am very impressed with my own workmanship.  Mind you, I am a little fussy and won’t accept anything less than perfect! The first one is a red a5 sized one, and the second an a6 sized notebook.  The A5 I am using as part of the 100 day project – you can follow me here or on twitter / instagram

I have grand plans for the book binding… including exclusive print versions of my own books… but I still need to work on some algorithms to work out how to do the pages etc.  But that won’t be for a while yet.

So this week will involve more book binding, craft, art, and gardening… Maybe some writing???  We’ll see.

What are your plans for the week?
