Man, any excuse to not write!  Well, not really, but it just feels like one excuse after another is coming up, and now it is the school holidays and me and number one son are fighting over the computer!  He wants to play Zoo Tycoon (which he does extremely well… except he is on it all day, creates a zoo, saves it, then doesn’t play it ever again!  What is with that?) and I want to play games on Facebook.

The reason I don’t type during the holidays?  “Mum?  How do you spell ‘world’?”, “Mum, come and have a look at Rosey”, “Mum, do you want to play with me?”, “Mum, whats for lunch (dinner, breakfast)” “Mum, I’m hungry”.

When I write, I get into a zone.  I can’t get into a zone and stay there when there are interruptions around me.  Just doesn’t work.  My boy has graciously given me an hour a day, but if I hit that right spot, the sweet spot where I just want to type, I just want to keep going.  And the “mum questions” don’t stop just because he is giving me an hour to write.

So why oh why did I decide to write a novel during the month of April when I have not only one son, but two step boys coming out too?  What Was I THINKING?????

What were you thinking? Indeed! Even though I was well aware the holidays were coming, when they actually got here I was a bit surprised. I am left wanting to write, but hardly having any time 😉
In fact, on Monday, Hubby called me from work to make sure everything was okay because I hadn’t emailed him at all – I hadn’t been at my computer for most of the day! lol

ARe the school holidays over yet? What do you mean there is still 1 1/2 weeks to go. Arrrrrrggggghhhhh!

The only time I have got near the computer is to complete a spreadsheet – was up most of last night doing it, instead of WRITING! There is something wrong.
