It has been an interesting week, to say the least!

Last week I started off on a rather manic high, which I was a little worried about, but it has since settled down, which I am rather relieved about.  I thought I was going to have to drop my meds again, but I think I’m doing okay.  Will have to see what this week brings before I make any decisions like that.

Writing-wise – I have edited, and I have writed… yeah I know, its not a word.  Progress is being made on Lost and Found, which I am enjoying writing.  Its dark at the moment, and I’m loving it.  I haven’t done as much editing, but then I haven’t had a lot of spare time.  This week, I plan on cracking onto it, and hope to have it all edited by Friday – which means spending a lottime locked away in my study… okay, well maybe not locked away, but it means I will have to spend a bit of time really getting into the story – oh dear – how horrible that will be… NOT!

Art-wise my work took an interesting turn this week – my pictures went from landscapes to abstract in one easy step – just add pattern paper – I am loving the results.  Next term I will be back into printmaking, which I am looking forward to.  Still working with landscapes, but will have more abstract designs incorporated.

I haven’t been keeping up with my A to Z Challenge, but I will attempt to get back into it, I’m quite enjoying them, and the wee discoveries I make as I work through them.  there have been some eye opening and Aha moments that have been awesome.  I love discovering things.

Talking of discovering things, I will be going back to school next term, in a more permanent arrangement – I’m looking at doing woodworking and possibly Business Studies – I have an idea for repurposing old wooden pallets into practical household / office pieces – desks, coffee tables – something that has an industrial look.  Really excited about it, so pleased that I have two weeks for the ideas to really come flowing in, as I will have to sell the idea to the woodwork teacher – otherwise I could end up making standard coffee tables and work desks, but I want to be able to learn the skills to make them, and then sell them.  I can’t wait.

Also, a newsletter will be going out soon, about Running Away – my contemporary Romance – I have a wonderful offer for all my newsletter subscribers, so if you haven’t already done so, sign up.  And get your friends to sign up too, as they will love this offer.

Anyway, better get on with my day, before I get any further behind!

Take care

Catherine

Oh wow! Your ideas for repurposing wood sound awesome!

And if you are obsessed with landscapes, I know you’ll have fun in printmaking. Any idea what type of printmaking you’ll do in that class or is it a taste of many different types?

Hi Mandy, I love printmaking, I did it last year, with a rather impressive progressive print (or suicide cut is what it is also known as) of a Kowhai. I don’t know if I will do progressive again, or just woodcuts – but the teacher is keen to do some etching as well. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty with ink again 🙂
