It is hard with writing sometimes, because you do have periods where you feel flat, where nothing seems to be happening, and that is how I feel today.

Life should be good, I am proofreading, editing, writing, but there seems to be something missing, and the short story I am writing just isn’t coming together like I would like it to.  My goal is to write one a month, so I really need to keep going with it, but I really am not feeling the love!

I could start all over with a new story, but I don’t think that will work either, because there isn’t anything that I want to write about.  i suppose I could start at a different point in the story and see if that makes me more excited…

Having a sneezing fit every 10 minutes, a sore back, a garage that needs emptying so I can put fire wood in it – no wonder I feel pretty damned yucky!  Oh well, life goes on, just have to keep battling on and make a list:

1.  Finish proofreading (only have one story to go)

2. Write 500 words on my short story

3. Clean out the garage when it warms up a little (might enlist the aid of youngest son, 50c mixture goes a long way!)

4. get some editing done.

There, when you break it down like that, it doesn’t seem anywhere near as scary…

You can do it! And if you feel like you need some ideas bounced around with the short story you’re having problems with just lemme know 🙂

You’ll feel really good when you have that list done I reckon.

I know exactly how you feel – that’s me at the moment. Flat. Blah.

Well the proofreading can be crossed off the list, just finished it! Hot cross buns dough has just beeped, so better go beat it to a pulp, add fruit to half of it and get that baking!

Then I will have a quick crack at my short story, I have an idea of where I want to start now, will be much better with it reordered, and hopefully the action will happen a little bit quicker!

OK, so proofreading done and although I haven’t done 500 words, I have rearranged my story, and I feel much happier about it, it will move faster now.

I started on the garage, but need my darling husband to help me move the motorbike trailer and then I have completed that mission.

Hot cross buns are baked, and I don’t know if I will get any editing done today, but at least I got these other things done!

I’m putting your productivity down to the fact that its a normal Monday for you, whereas I have the whole family home making it difficult to get anything done at all! I’m jealous by the way, very jealous. I want time to do stuff 🙁

psh, you are sounding way more motivated than me lol. I’ve managed to… um, well… get the baby into bed and reset some passwords for KW?

I’m putting it down to making it into smaller bit sized pieces, pieces that are small enough for me to deal with and not get too overwhelmed about :o)

Don’t worry Cas, your day will come!
