I know its been a while since I last did a blog post, a lot has happened in that time.  Severe frosts, storms, and life storms.  Yes, a friend decided that they no longer wanted to be as close as we once were.  It was painful, but I grieved it, and moved on.  It was pretty intense, I felt like shit for a couple of days, but now, I feel sad, but no where near the emotional wreck that I was.  Sometimes people move out of our lives, sometimes people move in.  And I’m thankful for everyone who has through my life, because you have brought something to it, whether it is a lesson, or a lifelong friendship and understanding.

And in the last month, I have been looking at love again.  Not for myself, it is still too early for that, but lets just say, that my ice cold heart is thawing.  Maybe…just a little.

I watched Country Calendar a couple of weeks ago, and there were a couple on it, they had been together for 15 years, and they still loved each other and it was so obvious, because he did nothing but talk highly of her, and she did nothing but praise him – almost to the point of being sickly sweet, but it revived my hope in a happily ever after.

Love does exist.  It just comes in different disguises sometimes.

I love my son, I love my Mum, I love my friends and I love my cats – but that isn’t a heartfelt – breathing quickening, heart thumping kind of way.  And that is what I keep thinking love should be, and while it is to start with, there needs to  be more.  A deep down understanding of unconditional love, and knowing that no matter what happens, you will always have them there for you.  And while you have fights and arguments, and temporary periods of not talking to each other, but ultimately, you come back together because you have that connection, in your soul, that joins you together.

That is what love is.  Love is unconditional.  And I think that I am starting to get that again.  And its nice to see that it is alive and well in New Zealand.  And one day, just one day, it might happen for me.

So, onto the writing front, Finding Amy Archer is with my editor, and I am eagerly awaiting her response.  It is also with my cover artist, and can’t wait until I see what she comes up with for a cover.  Other than that, I have been doing my art, because my folio is due at the end of this term.  Which isn’t very far away – 9 weeks to go I think.

So what are your plans this week?

Take care of yourselves
