Funny how the subconscious remembers things. Unconsciously, I have been trying to get things wrapped up and finished this month, which is a hangover from our KiwiWriter days, when August was our ‘get something finished’ month – called the End is Nigh. I am only a matter of mere words away from completing Runn ning Away! I know right!
But first, my week has consisted of doing nothing much really. I worked on Friday, because a two day job I was supposed to do, wasn’t able to be started until Friday because all staff members were in a meeting until 10am. Needless to say, it wasn’t a two day job. It wasn’t a one day job either. Yes, there were a couple of things I didn’t get to do, but I had it all done in dusted in a few hours. A bit frustrated really because I thought that I would have two days work out of it. Instead I have three new jobs, which I suspect I can get done in a day, so have to chase up for more 🙂
I spent a bit of time once more decluttering – this time the dining room table. Yes, you read right. The dining room table was hidden beneath a layer of detritus, including pens, pencils, papers, bills and other strange bits and pieces. Up until yesterday, I had a lovely clean table. Now it is covered in wallets, beanies, sunglasses, and lunch boxes from our day trip to Kaikoura.
Grasskarting – yip, the latest craze in NZ, we are partaking in it. We packed the carts, food and leaving at 7am headed to Kaikoura, where we froze as we waited for the racing to begin. While it was a small crowd, I did manage at least one second and a definite first! Yip, I won a race! Wahoo. My husband managed a couple of seconds and thirds, but he had a bigger group than I did, and we had some issues with the kart. We managed to get then sorted though and she raced like a charm.
Very sore and tired this morning though.
I did manage to reconnect with T G Ayer and motivated her to get going! We have set up a calendar so we both know where each other is at, so we can put pressure on the other if we know a deadline is looming. Hopefully both of us are able to work through this together and manage to accomplish a lot of stuff! I did manage to get Running Away to a near completed state – as I said early, only a matter of words to get it finished. Whether that happens today is debatable – my Immortal Beloved is home for the day… there are more ‘interesting’ things to do than write apparently 😉
(Sorry if this sounds disjointed, my brain and my fingers feel disconnected this morning (is it actually morning?) and I’m struggling to keep everything moving. Doesn’t help that we had -8 degrees outside this morning!)
So what do you plan on doing this week?
