Just when peace and calm descends, chaos comes back for a visit, with boundary crashers and unexpected news.  It really did try my new found peace, and I still have moments when I am fragile enough to shatter, but then the calmness comes back.  And I’m really going to need this over the next few weeks, months, years.  I know that sounds cryptic, and it is for a reason. Would just appreciate your prayers and thoughts for my family at this time.

I didn’t get any writing done last week!  I know!  After making a plan to write at least three times a week, but it was just busy with lots of other things, plus excuses – which I am really good at.  I need to be a bit more rigid with my routine and actually put time in and do it.  Put bum in seat!  I did however get a lot of art done, including my emotional journal – it was a week for focusing on that.  I also made a card for my brother who turned 40 last week.  We were hoping to get over to see him, but with Poppa ill, we weren’t able to get over there.  I hope to catch up with him soon.

So this week, more art and more writing!  I have a couple of projects that I’m working on, and I really need to get them up and running.

Oh, and I have Au Contraire 2016 to get ready for!  Squeee!  Yes, that is coming up and I head off on Friday to Wellywood for the long weekend.  Man, I’m excited and nervous rolled up into one energy ball!  But, I get to hang with some awesome NZ authors like T G Ayer, Cassie Hart, Leigh K Hunt and Z R Southcombe plus lots of others that I have yet to meet.  On Sunday night there is the Sir Julius Vogel Science Fiction and Fantasy book awards, for which Shards of Ice is up for best Science Fiction Novel.  Fingers crossed for me people!

So until next week
