August 2012 Goals

August sees the beginning of “The End is Nigh” challenge over at KiwiWriters, and I have offered to host this challenge.  It has taken me some agonising (yeah right), but I have chosen KQ&N to finish off.  Which means editing it to a Beta Reader state.

1.Edit “Of Kings Queens and Noblemen” – 1/2 way through read through.

2. Finish my Ice Planet Story

3. Edit Ice Planet – 1/2 way through

4. Edit the Gothic novel (Tobias and Arabella – aka the bloody gothic novel)

5. Finish writing “Son of God”

6. Edit Medusa’s Garden.

7.  Revise and edit Medusa as a romance novel(!?!)

It is really awesome to see two items crossed off my list.    It gives me a sense of accomplishment and knowing that I am keeping up with my goals.  If I can get KQ&N crossed off during August, I will be extremely happy.

New Writing Challenge

This morning while I was walking home from dropping off my son at school, I saw this awesome cloud formation – it was intense and very ominous and I thought – Ohhh, I can feel another writing challenge coming on!  So get your writing caps on – this is the picture – it was taken in Godzone (NZ) and if all you can see are clouds then WHAT ARE YOU DOING BEING A WRITER!

I won’t tell you what I see, because I don’t want to prejudice all of you clever writers.

Write as many words as you like and post the story on your own blog or website – the catch is, you have to write it in a genre you don’t normally write in, so if you write fantasy, do it as a chick lit – if you write chick lit, write it as a vampire story – get it, go with the complete opposite of what you normally do!

So what are you waiting for?  Start writing!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Heres a challenge for all you writers out there, and it will also be on the KiwiWriters website too.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  What is your thousand words?  Make up your flash fiction to feature on your site, and link it back to this post, so that others can visit and read your interpretation.

It will be interesting to see how you see this picture.  It can be in any genre.  You have a week…
